Lectureship / Senior Lectureship in Politics / International Relations (3 posts) (Ref 6729)

The Department of Politics is looking to make three appointments to support its research-led strategy for growth: we are primarily looking to strengthen research and teaching clusters in public policy & comparative politics, political theory, and international relations.

The Department was rated a 5 in RAE 2001, and has been rated 7th in the country in the National Student Survey in consecutive years. With the latest round of appointments, we will be totalling 27.5 members of staff across two campuses.

Applicants for all three posts will have a PhD and have a proven record of, or clear potential to produce, published research of international excellence. The delivery of high quality teaching is expected from the successful candidate, in line with the Department’s impressive record in this respect.

Appointment to Lecturer Senior Lecturer will be dependant upon proven skills. The salary for Lecturer will be circa £29,139. The salary for Senior Lecturer will be circa £35,837.

The Department is particularly, although not exclusively, interested in the following areas: public policy analysis; regulatory governance; political theory; comparative and regional politics; security/strategic studies; comparative and international political economy; electoral and party politics; international relations theory; gender and identity; quantative and qualitative research methods; foreign and security policy.
