Research Grant Announcement 2008
The */Orient-Institut Istanbul /*offers research grants for PhD. students and junior researchers on the post-doc level. Grants are available to support research on the region in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
The award consists of a monthly stipend of € 1000 for the duration of up to a maximum of one year.
Prospective applicants are expected to hold an MA. degree in a Middle East related discipline.
The proposed research project should have a regional focus on, either, Turkey, the Balkans, the Volga or Caucasus region as well as Central Asia. The complete application should specify the necessity of conducting research in Istanbul, or Turkey, respectively, and include a detailed timeframe for the envisioned research.
A basic command of German is expected of all applicants.
