Vacancy Associate Professor gender and diversity studies
The Centre for Gender and Diversity, part of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Maastricht University, is looking for a full-time Associate Professor in the field of Gender and Diversity Studies. Preference will be given to a candidate with an inter-disciplinary profile, and a background in history, philosophy or social sciences.
More...The profile that we require needs to complement the focus of our current research group (literary and cultural studies). We would welcome a candidate with solid expertise in modern history, who is able to connect historical developments over the past three centuries to the analysis of contemporary cultural and social phenomena. The successful candidate is a recognized scholar, with teaching and research expertise in gender studies, and/or queer studies, ethnic studies, (post) colonial studies or age-studies. It is essential to have proven expertise in gender- related issues, with a sound knowledge of post-Enlightenment history in gender relations and emancipation struggles. She/he will have acquired an extensive international network in her/his field and is able or willing to develop research proposals for funding purposes.
