The core mission of the Methodology Institute is to provide first-class methodological training to graduate students and to be a centre of excellence in social science methodology.

Applications are invited for a Professor of Social Research Methods, who will be expected to be the Head of the Methodology Institute for an initial period of three years and play a key role in the leadership and development of the
Institute.

The appointment will be from August 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter.

You will be an outstanding academic with an international reputation in any area of the social sciences and/or the methodology of social research. You will have strengths in advanced quantitative methods and/or the qualitative methods that are used in the empirical social sciences. You will have the opportunity to develop an association with an academic department in the School that shares your research or disciplinary interests.
